1:400 Diecast: Austrian Airlines Boeing 787-9 OE-LPM "Flaps Down" (JC Wings XX40263A)
OE-LPM is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, MSN 62736 (Line Number 936), carrying the construction history of two carriers. The aircraft first flew on 17 November 2019 as VN-A819 for Bamboo Airways before Austrian Airlines took delivery on 26 March 2024, making it one of the newest frames in the Austrian widebody fleet at the time of this model's release. Powered by General Electric GEnx-1B74/75 engines, the jet entered Austrian service on intercontinental routes from Vienna.
Livery & Visual Details
The fuselage is predominantly white. "Austrian" is printed in bold red along the upper forward cabin. The tail fin transitions from white at the top to the carrier's signature Viennese Red at the base, with a stylised white chevron logo inset. Horizontal stabiliser tips carry matching red accents. The raked wingtips — swept-back extensions of the wing itself — show a small red accent at their tips. GEnx engines feature prominent chevron (serrated) exhaust nozzles, clearly modelled on both nacelles. Flaps are visibly deployed, consistent with the item number's "A" suffix designation. Registration OE-LPM appears below the cockpit on the port side.
Model Craft & Collectability
JC Wings released XX40263A as the "flaps down" variant — a separate production run from the standard XX40263 — capturing OE-LPM in approach configuration. Diecast metal construction at 1:400 scale. The combination of a recently-delivered frame and an alternate flap configuration makes this a reference piece for 787 collectors tracking the Austrian fleet expansion.
