YL-BBE, MSN 29073 (construction number 29073/3083), is a Boeing 737-53S — a specific sub-variant of the 737-500 Classic series — operated by airBaltic from 4 June 2004 until retirement and storage in September 2019. The aircraft previously served Air France as F-GJNS from 1998 to 2003 before transfer via short lease to air Baltic. The 737-500 is powered by two CFM International CFM56-3 turbofans. airBaltic retired its entire 737 fleet by December 2020 in favor of an all-Airbus A220-300 operation, making YL-BBE one of the last 737-500s to carry the airBaltic livery.

Livery & Visual Details

The fuselage is white overall. The vertical stabilizer is entirely lime green — the defining visual element of airBaltic's classic livery — carrying "Baltic" in bold black lettering. "airBaltic" in dark blue sans-serif text appears on the forward-mid fuselage below the window line. Engine nacelles are split: the intake cowling section is lime green, transitioning to grey/silver rearward. A small "airBaltic" logo in light text appears on the green engine section. The registration YL-BBE is printed in black on the lower rear fuselage, with a Latvian flag motif immediately adjacent. Wingtips are straight-cut with no winglets, standard for the 737-500 Classic.
