1:200 Diecast: Air Canada Boeing 767-200ER C-GAUB (JC Wings XX20225)

C-GAUB is MSN 22517 (line number 16), a Boeing 767-233 delivered to Air Canada on October 30, 1982—making it the airline's first 767 delivery and one of the earliest 767s in service anywhere. It entered commercial service on February 14, 1983, on a transcontinental route. The airframe flew with Air Canada for over two decades before entering storage at Marana in September 2005; it was scrapped in Montreal in March 2009. MSN 22517 thus represents the inaugural 767 delivery to a Canadian carrier.

Livery & Visual Details

The classic Air Canada livery is applied: the upper fuselage is white, and a continuous red cheatline runs the full length of the aircraft at window level, covering the nose cone in solid red. The underside of the fuselage and engine pylons are light grey. The vertical stabilizer is entirely bright red; centered on it is a white maple leaf roundel with a white circular border. A small red fleet number "861" appears at the very top of the tail fin. "AIR CANADA" is printed in red on the forward fuselage. The registration "C-GAUB" is visible in smaller red text near the forward lower fuselage. Wingtips are conventional flat-cut with a small red accent stripe at each tip—no winglets, consistent with the 767-200 production configuration. Both engine nacelles are light grey. Two grey antennas are visible on the fuselage spine. Rolling gear is fully extended.

Model Craft & Collectibility

JC Wings XX20225 at 1:200 scale captures Air Canada's "red cheatline" era livery on the 767-200 platform—one of the shortest 767 variants in production, and the specific configuration that launched 767 service in Canada. The real C-GAUB was the first of its type on the property, a fact that anchors this model in an identifiable chapter of North American aviation history.
