1:200 Diecast: Lufthansa Boeing 737-500 D-ABIL "Memmingen" (JC Wings XX2380)

D-ABIL (MSN 24824, line number 2006) left the Boeing factory and entered Lufthansa service on 7 March 1991. Configured as a Boeing 737-530 — the short-body 737 Classic variant built for dense European routes — it carried the city name "Memmingen" throughout its 24-year career. The aircraft operated under Lufthansa's regional "Express" sub-brand, distinguishing short-haul intra-European flights from mainline service. In March 2013 D-ABIL made the safety books: flying LH-1261 Frankfurt–Graz, a de-icing fluid leak entered the left CFM56 engine and triggered an unusual odour on board; the crew operated on oxygen masks, and the left engine was replaced on the ground. D-ABIL was withdrawn from use on 8 April 2015 and stored at Sanford, Florida, later re-registered N240AT.

The model wears the Lufthansa Express classic livery: white fuselage with blue "Lufthansa" and "Express" titles, the crane-in-circle tail logo on a deep-blue fin, and the registration D-ABIL paired with a German tricolour flag at the rear fuselage. The aircraft name "Memmingen" appears beneath the Boeing 737-500 type designation on the aft cabin. No winglets — straight classic tips, as delivered. JC Wings item XX2380 is cast in full diecast metal including wings and tail surfaces, at 1:200 scale. Livery markings are applied via tampo printing (pad printing), not decals.
