McDonnell Douglas MD-11F registered B-2170 carries MSN 48461 (Line Number 475) and was delivered to China Eastern Airlines on 31 October 1991 — making it the carrier's sole factory-new MD-11 freighter ordered direct from Douglas. In September 2004 the aircraft transferred to China Cargo Airlines, retaining its original registration, and was retired in May 2010. It subsequently joined TradeWinds Cargo (later Sky Lease Cargo) as N950AR before being scrapped circa 2016–2017. Its status as China Eastern's only straight-from-manufacturer MD-11F gives B-2170 a distinct place in Chinese air cargo history.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries the classic China Eastern livery: white fuselage with a triple-stripe cheatline (blue over thin red over thin yellow) running from behind the cockpit to the tail. "CHINA EASTERN" appears in dark blue capitals mid-forward fuselage; Chinese characters reading "中国东方航空" (China Eastern Airlines) sit above on the forward upper fuselage, also in dark blue. "CARGO" is printed in white within a grey rectangular field on the upper rear fuselage, with the registration B-2170 below the cheatline at the rear. The vertical stabiliser is white, displaying the China Eastern swallow logo in red and blue. The MD-11's characteristic upward-curved winglets carry the same triple-stripe accent at their tips. The tail-mounted third engine nacelle is light grey. No passenger windows appear on this freighter variant. A large red-outlined main cargo door is visible forward, with an additional rear cargo door outline aft.
