1:400 Diecast: China Eastern Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-11F B-2172 Flaps Down (HX Models M101102F)

B-2172 (MSN 48496) was delivered to China Eastern Airlines on 22 May 1992, the second MD-11F to join the Shanghai-based carrier's fleet. China Eastern operated the trijet primarily on Pacific routes from Pudong to Los Angeles and Seattle. In March 2005 B-2172 transferred to China Cargo Airlines. The aircraft later re-registered as N955AR and operated with Sky Lease Cargo, extending its commercial life well beyond its China Eastern years.

Livery & Visual Details

Classic China Eastern pre-merger livery: white fuselage with the signature red, gold, and blue triple cheatline. "CHINA EASTERN" in blue on the forward cabin with Chinese characters reading "China Eastern Airlines" beneath. The tail carries the red-and-blue arrow emblem. Flaps extended in landing configuration. Rolling gear deployed. Trijet layout with center engine integrated in the tail fin clearly rendered.

Model Craft & Collectibility

HX Models M101102F is the flaps-down release of B-2172, complementing the Interactive Series (M101102) for display collectors. Diecast metal. The MD-11F mold captures the distinctive tail-engine intake scoop and the widened main gear truck of the freighter variant.
