OO-AWN, a Douglas C-47A with manufacturer serial number 12767, was delivered to Sabena Belgian World Airlines and operated on the carrier's European and African route network for over a decade. On 19 December 1962 the Belgian civil registry recorded the airframe, and by 7 October 1969 it was transferred to the Nigerian Air Force as NAF-307. Its final documented location was Kaduna, where it stood derelict. The C-47 served Sabena during the postwar reconstruction era when Belgium rebuilt its intercontinental air links—the aircraft operated alongside DC-4s and DC-6s connecting Brussels to the Congo.

The model depicts the classic Sabena natural-metal-and-white scheme. The upper fuselage is gloss white; the lower fuselage, wing undersides, and engine nacelles are polished silver. A prominent dark-blue cheatline divides the two surfaces and dips toward the nose, which is painted solid dark blue. "SABENA" appears in bold dark-blue block letters mid-fuselage, with a small Belgian tricolor flag immediately to the left. The registration OO-AWN is printed on the aft fuselage.
