1:200 Scale Model: Lufthansa Airbus A380-841 D-AIMK "Düsseldorf" (Herpa 559645-001)

D-AIMK is an Airbus A380-841, MSN 146, delivered to Lufthansa on 1 April 2014 and named "Düsseldorf." The aircraft carries four Rolls-Royce Trent 970-84 engines — two under each wing — the same powerplant family that made the A380 the quietest four-engine widebody of its generation on approach. D-AIMK operates from Frankfurt and Munich on Lufthansa's highest-density intercontinental routes.

Livery & Visual Details

The fuselage is white. "Lufthansa" appears in the carrier's signature dark blue script across the forward cabin. The vertical stabiliser and aft fuselage wrap are dark navy blue, centred by the iconic yellow Lufthansa crane-in-circle logo. A small Lufthansa crane also appears at the nose, just aft of the cockpit. A German flag roundel is placed beside the registration D-AIMK on the aft fuselage. The A380's distinctive upper deck runs continuously from near the nose to the aft cabin, with both upper and lower deck window rows visible. Four white engine nacelles, each with dark intake and exhaust areas, hang on pylons beneath the large swept wings. Integrated winglets at the wingtips curve upward.

Herpa produced 559645-001 in high-quality plastic (ABS) at 1:200 scale, measuring approximately 36.4 cm in length. The model represents D-AIMK in the standard Lufthansa classic livery — a reference-grade piece for A380 collectors documenting the Lufthansa quad-jet fleet before the type's partial retirement and subsequent return to service.
