1:200 Diecast: LOT Polish Airlines Antonov An-24B SP-LTP (Herpa Wings HE572996)

SP-LTP was an Antonov An-24B that operated with LOT Polskie Linie Lotnicze—Poland's national carrier—during the airline's Soviet-era turboprop fleet era. The An-24 series served LOT from the mid-1960s through the 1980s on domestic Polish routes and short-haul Eastern European services, a workhorse alongside the An-26 and later Il-18. LOT received several An-24Bs as part of COMECON-era procurement, and SP-LTP flew under the carrier's classic blue-and-white "Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT" scheme with the iconic white crane logo.

Livery & Visual Details

The model renders the classic LOT livery of the period. The fuselage is white; a dark-blue cheatline with a thin lighter-blue upper accent runs the length of the fuselage from nose to tail. The cockpit nose is painted black. "POLSKIE LINIE LOTNICZE LOT" is printed in dark lettering on the forward-mid fuselage below the window line, with "LOT" in significantly larger type. A small Polish flag appears on the forward fuselage within the blue stripe. The registration SP-LTP is printed in blue on the aft fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is dark blue topped with a white section separated by a bold red horizontal stripe; the stylized white crane logo sits on the blue field. Horizontal stabilizer tips are red. Engine nacelles are white with the blue cheatline continuing across them. Four-bladed propellers are black with yellow blade tips. No winglets—the An-24 carries a conventional straight-wing planform.

Model Craft & Collectibility

Herpa Wings item HE572996 presents the LOT An-24B at 1:200 in diecast metal with pad-printed markings. The An-24 mould captures the high wing, circular fuselage cross-section, and twin turboprop nacelle arrangement of the Soviet classic. This release documents a type that operated in Poland during the Cold War era—a piece that appeals both to LOT fleet historians and to Eastern European aviation collectors.
