1:500 Diecast: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 767-306ER PH-BZC "Brooklyn Bridge" (Herpa 537759)
PH-BZC, MSN 26263 (line number 592), was delivered to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines on October 2, 1995, bearing the name "Brooklyn Bridge" — part of KLM's practice of naming its widebody fleet after famous bridges. Configured as a 767-306(ER) with fleet number ZC-003, the aircraft powered long-haul routes from Amsterdam Schiphol until KLM retired its 767-300 fleet in November 2005, transitioning to the Airbus A330.
Livery & Visual Details
The model replicates KLM's classic livery: light blue upper fuselage separated from a grey lower section by a thin white cheatline, with a narrow blue accent stripe running below the window line. "KLM" and "Royal Dutch Airlines" appear on the forward fuselage port side; "Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij" in smaller text is also visible. On the aft fuselage, "BOEING 767" and "The Flying Dutchman" are inscribed — a reference to KLM's historical brand slogan. Registration "PH-BZC" appears on the rear fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is white with the KLM blue crown logo. Twin GE CF6-80C2B6F engines. No winglets on this standard 767-300 series wingtip configuration.
Model Craft & Collectability
Herpa 537759 reproduces PH-BZC in 1:500 scale with Herpa's classic 767-300 tooling. The "Brooklyn Bridge" name and the retired KLM 767 fleet give this model particular appeal to collectors of late-1990s/early-2000s European flag carrier operations. Diecast metal construction.
