1:200 Diecast: ITA Airways Airbus A220-300 EI-HHM "Alessandro Mazzola" (Herpa HE573054)

Registration EI-HHM (MSN 55235) ferried Mirabel–London Stansted–Rome Fiumicino on 25–26 August 2023 and entered ITA Airways service on 31 August 2023. Named "Alessandro Mazzola", it was the airline's first A220 delivered in the full all-blue livery scheme. EI-HHM was stored in March 2026 following the merger transition of ITA Airways into Lufthansa Group, giving this airframe's service period a defined and documented span.

Livery & Visual Detail

Deep royal-blue fuselage and vertical stabilizer — ITA Airways' signature all-over colour. The tail carries three vertical stripes in green, white, and red representing the Italian national flag at the trailing edge. A subtle geometric, near-pixelated pattern in slightly lighter blue overlays the rear fuselage and extends onto the stabilizer. "ITA AIRWAYS" in white on the forward fuselage, with "ITA" in a larger stylised font. "AIRBUS A220-300" and registration EI-HHM in small white text mid-fuselage below the window line. Engine nacelles are white with a green-white-red swoosh logo on each side echoing the tail flag motif. Raked wingtips blending smoothly into the white wing structure. Oval passenger windows in black along the fuselage.

Model Craft & Collectibility

Produced by Herpa at 1:200 scale in diecast metal. The A220-300 (Bombardier BD-500-1A11) is among the newer narrowbody types in the 1:200 market, and Herpa's mould captures the type's distinctive front-fuselage profile and short tail height. EI-HHM is historically notable as ITA Airways' first all-blue A220 delivery, and its early storage status makes this livery configuration a closed-chapter document piece.
