1:500 Diecast: Delta Air Lines Airbus A220-300 N302DU (Herpa 537568)
N302DU is an Airbus A220-300, MSN 55070, delivered to Delta Air Lines on 22 October 2020. It entered revenue service on 17 November 2020 on the Salt Lake City to Houston Intercontinental route — Delta's inaugural A220 commercial flight. N302DU is also documented as Delta's first A220-300 to arrive in service, making it the lead aircraft of what became a significant fleet type for the carrier's thin-route network strategy.
Livery & Visual Details
Delta's current livery in navy and red. White upper fuselage above a dark blue wave pattern along the lower hull extending to the tail cone. "DELTA" in bold dark blue capitals on the forward fuselage, preceded by a red Delta widget logo. The vertical stabiliser displays the full Delta widget: a red upper triangle and dark navy lower triangle forming the iconic abstract shape on white. Engine nacelles are dark blue. A small American flag decal sits adjacent to registration N302DU on the lower mid-aft fuselage. Curved upward-swept sharklets at the wingtips are dark blue-edged, consistent with the A220-300's Airbus-family winglet design. PW1500G engine nacelles modelled with their characteristic slim profile.
Model Craftsmanship & Collectibility
Herpa 537568 at 1:500 scale in diecast metal. The A220-300 mould is Herpa's dedicated tool for the Bombardier-originated design, capturing its relatively high wing aspect ratio and long, narrow fuselage cross-section. N302DU as Delta's fleet lead aircraft gives this model a documented "first" status within Delta's A220 programme.
