1:500 Diecast: American Airlines Boeing 777-300ER N736AT (Herpa HE523950-003)
N736AT is a Boeing 777-323ER operated by American Airlines, MSN 33538 (Line Number 1377). The aircraft completed its first flight on 18 February 2016 and entered service shortly after. American operates the 777-300ER on long-haul international routes, including transatlantic and transpacific services. N736AT wears the current American Airlines livery introduced in 2013—the first major rebrand since the carrier's 1960s bare-metal scheme.
Livery & Visual Details
American's 2013 "New American" livery: light silver-grey painted fuselage (composite materials preclude polished aluminium). "American" titling in modern sans-serif font on the forward fuselage with the red-white-blue stylised flag motif integrated into the letterform. The vertical stabilizer carries the same stylised flag in sweeping red, white, and blue bands. GE90-115B engines on the 777-300ER are among the largest commercial turbofans built; nacelles are silver-grey matching the fuselage. Wingtip devices are raked wingtips—wing extensions swept upward and aft, standard on all 777 variants. At 1:500 scale, landing gear is deployed.
Model Craft & Collectibility
Herpa produced HE523950-003 at 1:500 scale in diecast metal; no stand included. Herpa's 1:500 777-300ER mold captures the stretched fuselage relative to the 777-200ER, the distinctive GE90 nacelle girth, and the raked wingtip profile. At this scale the model measures approximately 14 cm in length—compact yet detailed for shelf display. The current AA livery in 1:500 on the 777-300ER is a standard but consistently collected release.
