1:400 Diecast: TUI Airways Boeing 737 MAX 8 G-TUMY "Zakynthos" (Gemini Jets GJTOM2324)
G-TUMY (MSN 44619, Line Number 8941) was delivered to TUI Airways on June 24, 2024, ferried from Boeing Field Paine Field (PAE) to Manchester (MAN). The aircraft carries the name "Zakynthos," after the Greek island that is a premier TUI holiday destination. Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B engines, the 737 MAX 8 is TUI UK's primary short-to-medium haul platform for leisure routes from Manchester, Gatwick, and Birmingham.
Livery & Visual Details
The model carries TUI's current livery: dark navy blue upper fuselage sweeping to a bright turquoise blue that dominates the mid-to-rear fuselage and the full vertical stabilizer. "TUI" in bold red lettering with the TUI "smile" arc logo occupies the forward turquoise stripe. The tail fin features the TUI smile mark—a curved line with a red dot above center—against the turquoise background. Split scimitar winglets in turquoise with white trailing edges are accurately reproduced, consistent with the 737 MAX configuration. Engine nacelles are white/light grey with the TUI.com text on the nacelle body. CFM LEAP-1B-scale large-diameter nacelles are clearly distinguishable from the smaller CFM56 nacelles of previous-generation 737s. Registration G-TUMY appears in white on the mid-fuselage.
