D-ALCC carried MSN 48783, line number 627, delivered to Lufthansa Cargo on 13 August 1998. Over more than 23 years of freight operations out of Frankfurt, this tri-jet outlasted every other MD-11 registered in Europe. On 15 October 2021, D-ALCC completed the type's final commercial rotation for Lufthansa Cargo—its last legs took it to Cairo, Tel Aviv, Chicago, and New York before touching down at Frankfurt for the last time. The aircraft was subsequently ferried to storage and later re-registered as N783SN with Western Global Airlines.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears the "Thank you MD-11 / Farewell" commemorative livery applied in the aircraft's final weeks of service. The fuselage is gloss white; the vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizers, and tail-engine housing are dark navy blue. Prominently displayed on the aft fuselage: a red heart outline with "Thank you MD-11" above it and "Farewell" in a flowing script below, flanked by the registration D-ALCC and a German flag decal—all in blue.
