1:400 Diecast: KLM Airbus A321neo PH-AXA "Swallowtail" (Geminijets GJKLM2291)

PH-AXA is KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' first-ever Airbus A321neo — the airline had operated A319s and A320s for decades but never an A321 variant until this airframe. Built as an A321-252NX (MSN 11895) and ferried from Hamburg XFW to Amsterdam Schiphol on 27 August 2024, the aircraft entered commercial service on 16 September 2024. KLM named the aircraft "Koninginnepage" (Swallowtail butterfly), consistent with the airline's tradition of naming jets after Dutch butterflies. The powerplants are CFM LEAP-1A30 engines — the first time KLM has operated LEAP-series narrow-body propulsion.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries KLM's current livery: medium-light blue upper fuselage transitioning to white belly, separated by a thin dark blue cheatline. The vertical stabilizer is white, hosting the large blue KLM crown-logo. "KLM Royal Dutch Airlines" appears on the forward fuselage in blue. Registration PH-AXA and a Dutch flag decal are printed on the rear fuselage above the wing trailing edge. Engine nacelles are white with a blue KLM logo on each cowling. Wingtip devices are Sharklets — white with a small blue KLM logo on the inner face. Fan blades in metallic grey.

GeminiJets all-metal diecast construction with pre-assembled rolling landing gear. The GJKLM2291 captures KLM's inaugural A321neo in its first-delivery livery — the only mass-produced 1:400 model of the aircraft as delivered in 2024.
