The aircraft absorbed into Delta Air Lines following the October 2008 Northwest-Delta merger, one of the largest airline consolidations in US aviation history. Delta retained the NW-registered N852NW in its own livery, deploying the A330-200 on transatlantic and transpacific routes where the type's range of approximately 13,400 km suits long-haul operations from Atlanta and other hubs.
