1:200 Diecast: American Eagle Airlines Saab 340B N389AE (GeminiJets G2AAL1339)

N389AE is a Saab 340B carrying manufacturer serial number 340B-389, which first flew under Swedish test registration SE-C89 in March 1996 before delivery to American Eagle Airlines. The 340B variant introduced uprated General Electric CT7-9B turboprops versus the original 340A, giving improved hot-and-high performance across American Eagle's regional network feeding American Airlines' hubs. After its American Eagle career, 340B-389 transferred to Australia, reregistering as VH-ZRB with Regional Express (Rex Airlines)—giving this registration a dual-continent operator history.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears the classic American Eagle livery in white with a dark blue cheatline running the length of the fuselage and a bold red stripe immediately below. The nose cone is painted dark blue, framed by a thin red accent line. "American" appears in red script on the forward fuselage with "Eagle" in blue directly below—the carrier's recognizable stacked wordmark. The vertical stabilizer is white, carrying the American Airlines "AA" stacked-flag logo in red, white, and blue. A small US flag decal sits at the tail tip. Both four-bladed turboprop assemblies are finished in black, with white cylindrical nacelles matching the fuselage. The small text "300" near the nose indicates the 340B's production suffix visible on the model.

Model Craft & Collectibility

GeminiJets G2AAL1339 renders the Saab 340B at 1:200 scale in diecast metal with four-blade prop detail. The Saab 340B is one of the most widely modeled regional turboprops among 1:200 collector releases, and the American Eagle application—with its distinctive red-blue-white tri-stripe—is among the most sought-after American regional liveries from the pre-merger era before AMR's 2013 Chapter 11 restructuring.
