1:200 Diecast: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 720-040B AP-ATQ (AeroClassics AC211186B)

AP-ATQ, MSN 18745 (Line Number 380), was delivered new to Pakistan International Airlines on 28 April 1965 — one of PIA's later-series Boeing 720-040B acquisitions. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT3D-3B turbofan engines, the aircraft entered service at a time when PIA was actively expanding its jet network across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. AP-ATQ was later leased to Air Malta during the mid-1970s before returning to PIA service; the airframe was stored at Karachi in November 1985, ending a twenty-year operational career.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model wears PIA's classic polished-metal era scheme: white upper fuselage with a dark green cheatline running at window level, natural metal lower fuselage and wings. "PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL" appears in green sans-serif lettering above the cheatline on the main fuselage section. A decorative green geometric border pattern — consisting of small interconnected square motifs — runs immediately below the airline name. The PIA crescent emblem appears on the forward fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is solid dark green with the white "PIA" logo. Both horizontal stabilizers and all four engine nacelles are finished in natural metal. Classic tapered wingtips accurate to the 720 original design.
