E3-AAQ, MSN 23309, began life as Qantas VH-EAM, delivered to the Australian carrier on 12 December 1985. After nearly two decades of Qantas service, the airframe was sold and registered N771WD before Eritrean Airlines took delivery as E3-AAQ on 9 June 2004. Powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4E engines, the 767-238ER served as the backbone of Eritrean's international network until the aircraft was stored in September 2020.

Livery & Visual Detail

The fuselage is clean white. The Eritrean Airlines name appears in stylised dark blue lettering on the forward fuselage, preceded by the carrier's multi-colour logo in green, yellow, blue, and red segments. The registration "E3-AAQ" and a small Eritrean flag are printed in black above the rear windows. The vertical stabilizer is dark blue/black with a sweeping yellow/gold stripe and a vertical stack of four colour rectangles — green, yellow, blue, red — at the trailing edge. Engine nacelles are dark blue matching the tail. Classic flat wingtips accurate to the 767-200 baseline. Multi-colour spinner logo visible on each engine intake cone.
