XA-TWR operated with Conviasa, the Venezuelan state carrier, from April 2006 under a lease arrangement. Planespotters records trace the airframe through earlier operators including Southwest Airlines (from November 1979) and Meigas Aviation Services before Global Air held it from March 2004 prior to the Conviasa lease. The registration prefix "XA" indicates Mexican registration at the time of Conviasa operation, a cross-border leasing arrangement documented in the aircraft's history file.

Livery & Visual Detail

White fuselage. "conviasa" in large vibrant orange lowercase lettering runs along the mid-fuselage. The website "www.conviasa.aero" is printed in smaller black text above the main title. Registration "XA-TWR" appears in black on the rear upper fuselage and vertically on the orange vertical stabiliser. The entire tail fin and horizontal stabilisers are orange; a circular white logo with a stylised yellow abstract device occupies the centre of the fin on both sides. A small Mexican flag is positioned on the forward fuselage by the cockpit. Classic rounded wingtips with no winglets — accurate to the 737-200 configuration. Two JT8D turbofan engines on short underwing pylons, nacelles white with metallic silver exhaust, the low-slung engine position characteristic of the original 737 series.
