G-AZNA, constructor's number 350, first flew on 26 November 1958 at Hurn, Bournemouth, initially delivered to South African Airways as ZS-CDX. After more than a decade of service in southern Africa, the airframe was sold to British Midland Airways in February 1972, re-registered G-AZNA and returned to UK domestic operations. British Midland periodically leased the aircraft to Manx Airlines through the 1980s before the Viscount was withdrawn from service and placed in storage in March 1988, closing out thirty years of commercial flying.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries the classic British Midland two-tone livery: deep royal blue upper fuselage and tail fin with a polished natural-metal lower fuselage, separated by a thin white cheatline. "British Midland" is lettered in white on the forward fuselage, with the stylised red "BM" logo following immediately. The same red BM device appears on the vertical stabilizer. A small Union Jack is applied on the nose below the cockpit windows. Registration G-AZNA is printed aft of the wing in black. The aircraft features four Rolls-Royce Dart 525 turboprop engines, each with a three-bladed propeller carrying distinctive yellow-tipped blades. Wingtips are classic straight without any upswept devices.
