6Y-JGA carries MSN 47351 (Line Number 442). The airframe was originally ordered by Air Canada and delivered to them on 23 January 1969 as CF-TMM. Six weeks later, on 7 March 1969, it transferred to Air Jamaica — the Jamaican national carrier — wearing the registration 6Y-JGA. Air Jamaica operated the DC-9-32 on intra-Caribbean and North American routes throughout the 1970s. The aircraft later moved to USAir as N958VJ, operating there until retirement and storage at Mojave in 2001, with scrapping completed in 2006.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model displays Air Jamaica's classic scheme: yellow upper fuselage with a bold red cheatline running the length of the windows, white lower fuselage. The nose cone is white. The vertical stabilizer is yellow with a red curved base accent and a circular logo depicting Jamaica's national bird — the Doctor Bird (Streamertail hummingbird) — rendered in red-orange against the yellow field. "airJamaica" is written in red script on the lower forward fuselage. Registration 6Y-JGA appears on the lower rear fuselage. Engines are rear-mounted in twin configuration on the aft fuselage, standard for the DC-9 type. A Jamaican flag is visible on the outer engine nacelle. Straight-cut wingtips, no winglets.
