• Feature:Also a Boeing 737-200 in Frontier's early fleet, this aircraft, registration N214AU, shares the same fuselage livery language as other aircraft in the series—the cursive "Frontier" runs across the fuselage, with the green italic "The Spirit of the West" as the tagline—but what truly gives each aircraft its own character is always the tail. Painted on the tail of this aircraft is a bald eagle, with clouds and sky as the background, the overall toneclean and understated, forming a sharp contrast with other tail designs such as the raccoon and the bison, and giving a sense of lofty and vast Western skies. The bald eagle, as the national bird of the United States, appearing on Frontier's tail itself carries a special symbolic meaning, making it a highly representative piece in the series of wildlife liveries.
Frontier's approach of assigning each aircraft a separate animal protagonist on the tail and giving it aexclusive name was extremely rare in the 1990s American aviation circle, and thus cultivated a loyal fan base that specifically chased different tail patterns. Aeroclassics' 1:400 reproduction of this bald-eagle livery is highly accurate, the layer of tail feathers and clouds printed delicately and naturally, and the visual tension between the clean white fuselage and the tail pattern is well preserved. For Frontier series collectors, displaying this aircraft alongside N921WA perfectly showcases thecompletely different tail personalities within the same livery system.
