D-AIHK, MSN 580, rolled out of Toulouse as an A340-642 and entered Lufthansa service on 29 May 2004, christened "Mainz." The airframe carries four Rolls-Royce Trent 556 engines, each rated at 56,000 lbf — the powerplant that distinguishes the stretched -600 from the CFM56-powered -200/-300 variants. In March 2020 the aircraft flew to Teruel, Spain for pandemic storage; it returned to commercial service in May 2022 and remained active into the 2025–26 winter schedule.

Livery & Visual Detail

This model captures D-AIHK in the special livery applied in July 2016 for FC Bayern München's Audi Summer Tour to the United States. The fuselage is white with Lufthansa's deep-blue tail carrying the iconic yellow crane emblem. Mid-fuselage features a large circular FC Bayern München crest — Bavaria's blue-and-white lozenge pattern framed in red with "FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN 1900" in white lettering — alongside ten painted squad members in red kit. A German tricolour flag and the registration D-AIHK appear aft of the wing. Wingtip winglets are confirmed; engines show no chevron nozzles. All four main-gear bogies and nose gear are extended.
