F-BVGA, MSN 005, is the fifth production Airbus A300 ever built. First flown on April 15, 1974 under test registration F-WVGA, it was delivered to Air France on May 10, 1974 — the airline that had been the A300's launch customer since 1972. As one of the earliest A300s to enter commercial service, F-BVGA holds a specific place in the history of the widebody twin-engine era: the A300B was the aircraft that proved a twin-engine widebody could operate profitably on short- and medium-haul routes at a time when regulators and airlines alike still preferred tri- and quad-jets. This model captures F-BVGA in its original Air France delivery scheme.

Livery & Visual Details

Gloss white fuselage throughout. "AIR FRANCE" in large royal blue letters on the forward fuselage, with "AIR" stacked above "FRANCE." A thin royal blue cheatline runs below the window row. The vertical stabilizer is white with a V-shaped royal blue stripe sweeping down from the tip and connecting to the fuselage cheatline — the classic early Air France tail design. Small French tricolor flag (blue–white–red) and registration F-BVGA on the aft upper fuselage. Engine nacelles are metallic silver with white pylons. Classic straight A300 wingtips.

Model Craft & Collectibility

YU Model YU30002 is part of the brand's inaugural A300B2 release series, sharing the same newly tooled A300B2 mold as YU30001. Released in early 2026, this is a companion piece to the Lufthansa D-AIAA and represents Air France's side of the A300 launch-customer story. Diecast metal with antenna, rolling landing gear, and display stand included.
