9V-SGB is an Airbus A340-541, MSN 499, delivered to Singapore Airlines on 12 January 2004. It was part of the "LeaderShip" sub-fleet — SQ's internal branding for its A340-500 ultra-long-range aircraft — which operated some of the longest scheduled flights ever flown, including SIN–LAX and the now-legendary SIN–EWR Nonstop. 9V-SGB was stored in November 2013 as traffic rights and fuel economics shifted, and was ultimately scrapped in August 2020. Powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 553 turbofans, the A340-541 carried a maximum takeoff weight of 373 tonnes.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model wears Singapore Airlines' classic livery: white fuselage, dark blue tail with the golden Kris Bird emblem, and the gold-and-dark-blue cheatline running the length of the cabin. "SINGAPORE AIRLINES" in dark blue capitals on the forward fuselage, with a Singapore flag decal at the nose. Four silver-grey engine nacelles under the swept wings. Raked wingtips are rendered in white. Cockpit nose text reads "AIRBUS A340-500".

Model Craft & Collectibility

SQ Wings item L2175 is a 1:200 diecast alloy construction with display stand. The A340-500 is now entirely absent from active passenger service globally, and Singapore's fleet was the flagship operator of the type. This model captures 9V-SGB at a specific early-service configuration that cannot be replicated from any currently flying airframe.
