• Feature:The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is one of the most representative wide-body trijet airliners in the golden age of civil aviation in the 1980s and 1990s. It is derived from the classic DC-10 platform, known for its more advanced glass cockpit, winglets and longer fuselage, with a maximum range of more than 12,000 kilometers, making it the mainstay of trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic routes back then. American Airlines was once an important operator of the MD-11. This prototype aircraft with registration number N1754 operated many core intercontinental trunk routes under American Airlines, witnessing the glorious years when trijet wide-body airliners dominated long-haul routes. With the continuous improvement of the fuel efficiency of twin-engine wide-body airliners, the passenger version of the MD-11 has gradually faded out of the passenger fleets of major airlines, and now it has become a classic model carrying the collective memory of a generation of aviation enthusiasts.

This model restores American Airlines' most time-feeling classic "aluminum skin + color stripes" livery - the polished silver fuselage directly presents a metallic texture without primer, matched with red and blue double-color waistlines and the iconic "AA" double eagle emblem, which is simple, neat and highly recognizable. This visual image designed by designer Massimo Vignelli was used from 1967 to 2013 and is a classic work in the history of American commercial design.
