The aircraft first flew on 18 October 2012 under the test registration N455BJ and was delivered to the Brunei Sultan's Flight in September 2016. It operates as the primary long-range VIP transport for the Government of Brunei and has been observed at Vancouver, Sydney, London Heathrow, and Hamburg, among other destinations.

Livery & Visual Details

The livery is a refined executive scheme. The upper fuselage is gloss white; the lower fuselage and engine nacelles are painted in a warm beige or off-white tone. A series of thin curved grey stripes flows from below the cockpit windows, sweeping along the fuselage and extending onto the lower section towards the tail. Near the top of the vertical stabilizer, three thin horizontal grey stripes echo the fuselage accent. On the vertical stabilizer: a large gold-toned royal crest featuring a crown and shield—the Brunei government emblem. On the forward fuselage, below the cockpit: the name "SARANAC" in dark sans-serif text. A small rectangular yellow emblem with a gold crest appears on the nose section. The aircraft's four GEnx engines are fitted in beige nacelles with standard circular exhaust nozzles, no chevrons. Wingtips are the Boeing 747-8's characteristic raked swept-back tips. Landing gear is extended with white struts and dark wheels.
