1:400 Diecast: Air Koryo Tupolev Tu-154B P-552 (Phoenix Models PH11798)

P-552 carries MSN 76A143, a Tupolev Tu-154B manufactured in 1976 and first delivered to Chosonminhang (the forerunner of Air Koryo) on 24 May 1976, re-registered as P-552 in 1978. It became part of Air Koryo when the airline formally adopted that name in 1992. Air Koryo operated four Tu-154 airframes (P-551, P-552, P-553, and P-561); P-552 remains one of two still listed as active as of the 2026 northern-summer schedule on the Pyongyang–Vladivostok sector, making it among the oldest Tu-154s still in commercial service globally.

Livery & Visual Details

The livery is Air Koryo's classic scheme: white fuselage with a red horizontal stripe running the full length of the lower fuselage, red wingtip and tailplane tip accents, and a row of simulated black cabin windows with red dot punctuation above. The vertical tail carries a white background with the Air Koryo roundel — a red five-pointed star encircled by blue and red bands. "고려항공" in blue Korean script appears at the nose, followed by "AIR KORYO" in blue capitals mid-fuselage. The registration P-552 in black sits below the tail. Three rear-mounted engines: two flanking the rear fuselage in individual pods, one at the tail root with an S-duct intake. T-tail configuration. No winglets. Rolling gear deployed.

The Tu-154B is the sole Soviet-era tri-jet type represented in most 1:400 collections, and Air Koryo is one of only a handful of operators to have flown the type into the 2020s. For collectors of Eastern Bloc or rare operator types, this is a difficult-to-replicate subject.
