B-7349 is a Boeing 777-39PER, MSN 43279, Line Number 1411, delivered to China Eastern Airlines on 30 June 2016 via ferry PAE–PVG. The airframe has been operating from Shanghai Pudong ever since. In April 2025 the aircraft was repainted in the "Shanghai Museum" special livery — a scheme developed to promote the Shanghai Museum and its cultural collections. The 777-39PER is powered by two GE90-115B engines, the highest-thrust commercial turbofan series, and flies wide-body trunk routes from Shanghai.

White upper fuselage forward, transitioning to a large teal-green Chinese classical pattern covering the aft fuselage and tail. The pattern features interlocking traditional Chinese decorative motifs in teal, pale blue, and white. The Chinese characters reading "中國東方航空" appear in red at the nose and vertically on the tail fin; "CHINA EASTERN" in blue and "SHANGHAI" in red are visible mid-fuselage; the text "上海博物馆" (Shanghai Museum) confirms the campaign affiliation.
