B-659A, MSN 10167, was delivered to China Eastern Airlines on May 30, 2025 — one of the more recent additions to the carrier's growing ARJ21-700 fleet. The ARJ21-700, rebranded as the C909 by COMAC, is a twin-engine regional jet with rear-mounted engines seating 78 passengers in a standard single-class layout. China Eastern operates the C909 on domestic feeder routes from hubs including Nanchang, where B-659A was ferried on delivery from Shanghai Pudong (PVG-KHN). The type carries significance as one of the few commercially certified domestically developed Chinese airliners in active service.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model wears China Eastern's standard livery: clean white fuselage with "CHINA EASTERN" in dark navy blue capitals and "中国东方航空" in the same shade across the mid-forward fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is white and carries the China Eastern swallow logo — a stylized red crescent enclosing a blue swallow form. The registration B-659A is printed in black on the mid-fuselage below the window line and repeated on the upper wing surfaces. The aircraft's two rear-mounted turbofan engines have white nacelles with metallic grey exhaust cones, a defining silhouette feature of the ARJ21/C909 compared to underwing-engine jets. Blended winglets are silvery-grey.
