N66837 carries MSN 60122, Line Number 5168. The 737-924ER is the extended-range variant of the Boeing 737 Next Generation series, the largest member of the 737 NG family. United Airlines operated N66837 in a dual-purpose livery: the Continental-United merged scheme on the tail, combined with a Special Olympics 50th anniversary campaign on the fuselage. The "50" marking on the aft fuselage, with the Special Olympics logo integrated into the numeral, commemorated five decades of the organisation founded in 1968.

The white fuselage carries "UNITED" in dark blue capital letters on the forward upper section. The aircraft features prominent split scimitar winglets — an upper grey blade with a dark blue tip and a lower grey blade angled downward.

Cast in diecast metal to 1:200 scale by JC Wings, Item XX20618. The 737-900ER mould captures the longer fuselage of the -900 series. At 21.06 cm length and 17.16 cm wingspan. The split scimitar winglets — a retrofit developed by Aviation Partners Boeing — are accurately reproduced and distinguish N66837 from standard winglet 737 releases. CFM International CFM56-7B engines power the 737-924ER.
