9V-SPP is MSN 28029 (line number 1276), a Boeing 747-412 that first flew on May 30, 2001, and was delivered to Singapore Airlines on June 7, 2001. During its Singapore Airlines service life, the airframe was painted in the carrier's Star Alliance special livery, one of a small number of 747-400s across the alliance to wear the unified scheme. The aircraft left SIA's fleet in 2012, passing to Transaero Airlines as EI-XLN before further operator changes.

Livery & Visual Details

The fuselage is white. Large black "STAR ALLIANCE" lettering with the five-pointed star logo appears on the upper mid-fuselage. "SINGAPORE AIRLINES" is printed in black on the forward fuselage below the cockpit, with the Singapore national flag adjacent. The vertical stabilizer is deep dark blue with the gold SilverKris bird logo centered on it; a thin orange-red stripe caps the top edge of the fin. The four engine nacelles are uniform light grey. Wingtips are raked—the characteristic swept-back extension of the Boeing 747-400's production tip, without upturned winglets. Upper wing surfaces show dark-grey panel detailing. Nose gear is shown in the extended position.
