HL8598, MSN 689, was delivered to Korean Air on December 27, 2024, as one of the carrier's first two Airbus A350s — the other being HL8597. The delivery marked Korean Air's entry into the A350 program, adding Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-powered widebody capability to a fleet previously anchored by 747s, 777s, and 787s. The A350-900XWB configuration gives Korean Air range and efficiency suited to its transpacific and long-haul European routes.

Livery & Visual Detail

The model renders Korean Air's current scheme: the upper fuselage and tail fin are finished in the airline's signature "Morning Calm" sky blue, the lower fuselage in light grey. The Taegeuk symbol — the interlocked red-and-blue motif drawn from the Korean national flag — appears on both sides of the vertical stabilizer within a white circle, and a smaller version is applied to each engine nacelle. "KOREAN AIR" runs in dark blue on the forward fuselage, with "AIRBUS A350-900XWB" in smaller text below. The registration HL8598 is printed on the tail and on the underwing surface. The A350-900XWB's characteristic raked wingtips are accurately represented. Landing gear is shown in the deployed position.

JC Wings produces SA4088 at 1:400 scale in diecast metal. As MSN 689 and one of only two A350s delivered to Korean Air in the initial order tranche, HL8598 carries specific collector significance for Korean Air completionists and A350 series trackers. The 2024 delivery date makes this among the most recently delivered airframes in the JC Wings 1:400 catalog for this carrier.
