1:400 Diecast: Airbus A330-700L Beluga XL F-WBXS "XL2 Smile" (JC Wings LH4147)

F-WBXS is the second Airbus A330-743L BelugaXL built (fleet designation XL2), carrying MSN 1853. The aircraft made its first flight on 15 April 2019 and was delivered to Airbus Transport International in December 2019. Two Rolls-Royce Trent 743L-64 turbofans power the oversized cargo airlifter, which hauls complete A350 wing sets and fuselage sections between Airbus production sites. F-WBXS later received the operational registration F-GXLH when entering full ATI service. The BelugaXL fleet numbers six airframes in total. JC Wings LH4147 captures F-WBXS in its distinctive whale-face delivery markings.

Livery & Visual Details

The model is painted in the signature BelugaXL white-and-blue scheme. On the front of the bulbous upper fuselage, two large cartoon-style whale eyes are visible — black outlines, white sclera, dark pupils — positioned aft of the cockpit windows to create the iconic "smiling whale" face. A curved black arc beneath the cockpit forms the whale's smile. "AIRBUS BELUGA" titles appear in blue on the mid-forward fuselage. The vertical stabilizer is deep blue with Airbus-style wave graphics in light blue. A large numeral "2" in blue on the tail support structure identifies the airframe as XL2. Rolling gear deployed. Engine nacelles white with standard exhaust nozzles.

The BelugaXL mold accurately reproduces the A330-derived lower fuselage fused with the purpose-built oversized cargo hull — one of the most geometrically complex shapes in commercial aviation at 1:400 scale.
