A6-EHJ is Airbus A340-642 MSN 933, delivered to Etihad Airways on 11 December 2008 and retired on 20 November 2019. During its service life, the aircraft wore multiple special liveries tied to the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix — Etihad's annual flagship sponsorship. The 2017 edition captured here is among the most visually aggressive racing-themed airline schemes applied to a quadjet widebody. MSN 933 was the first Etihad A340 repositioned to European Aviation when the type was retired from the Abu Dhabi fleet in early 2018.

Livery & Visual Details

The fuselage transitions from white at the nose through a deep red gradient mid-body into near-black toward the tail. The vertical stabilizer is covered in a black-and-white checkerboard racing flag pattern — the šahovnica-style grid dominates the entire fin. "ETIHAD" in metallic silver lettering straddles the red gradient on the forward upper fuselage, accompanied by the Arabic name in the same finish. "ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX" appears in smaller black lettering below the windows forward, and "Formula 1" is printed in white on the dark lower fuselage aft. The A340-600's four Rolls-Royce Trent 556 nacelles carry small red-and-black Formula 1 logos. No winglets — the -600 has classic raked tips. The characteristic A340-600 centerline gear bogie is visible beneath the fuselage. Landing gear is extended.

JC Wings produced XX20854 in diecast metal at 1:200 scale. The A340-600 mold is notably long — at scale, this model accurately represents the 75.3-meter fuselage of the longest Airbus quadjet ever built. Etihad Formula 1 liveries are a recurring target for special-scheme collectors; the 2017 edition on MSN 933 is documented with verified flight history across multiple aviation databases.
