A6-EHJ (MSN 933, A340-642X, delivered 11 December 2008) is the sole Etihad A340-600 that never wore the airline's standard livery — for nine consecutive seasons from 2009 through 2017, it carried the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 special scheme, updated each year with the new race year. This JC Wings release documents the 2012 edition, one year after XX20852's 2011 version, with the key visible difference being the "ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX 2012" text on the fuselage. The aircraft was transferred to Plus Ultra (EC-NFP) in November 2019 and later to Mahan Air as EP-MMU.

Livery & Visual Details

The 2012 scheme is visually identical in structure to the 2011 version: white nose graduating to red mid-section, black geometric racing-stripe patterns aft. "الاتحاد" and "ETIHAD" in silver-white on the red fuselage; "ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX 2012" below. "Formula 1" on the dark aft section. The vertical stabilizer carries the black-and-white checkered flag with the F1 circular logo. The four Rolls-Royce Trent 500 nacelles are black with F1 livery markings. The 2012 text on the fuselage is the defining differentiation point from XX20852. Wingtips are standard A340-600 raked tips.

Model Craft & Collectability

JC Wings produced XX20853 in diecast alloy at 1:200 scale, paired with XX20852 (2011). Collectors building a year-by-year sequence of A6-EHJ F1 editions need both releases — the fuselage year-text is the only external change that distinguishes them, and it is correctly reproduced on both castings. The A340-600 mould at 1:200 is one of the more physically imposing pieces in this scale range.
