F-WBXL is the first Airbus A330-743L BelugaXL ever built (fleet designation XL1), carrying MSN 1824. On 19 July 2018 it completed the BelugaXL type's maiden flight from Toulouse-Blagnac — marking the entry of the largest-cross-section freighter in Airbus's transport fleet. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 743L-64 turbofans, F-WBXL served as the primary flight-test and certification aircraft for several years before Airbus formally delivered it to Airbus Transport International for commercial operations in June 2024, receiving the operational registration F-GXLG. The BelugaXL program comprises six aircraft. JC Wings LH4140 records F-WBXL in its original test-period registration.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries the standard BelugaXL whale-face livery: white fuselage with the bulbous upper cargo hull, cartoon whale eyes with blue pupils positioned aft of the cockpit, and a black smile arc below the flight deck. "BELUGA AIRBUS" titles in dark blue appear on the forward fuselage. A large semi-transparent grey "XL" graphic occupies the mid-aft fuselage side. The vertical stabilizer is deep blue with Airbus-wave graphic in lighter blue. Rolling gear deployed. Engine nacelles white with standard exhaust nozzles. Note the absence of a hull sequence number distinguishing XL1 from XL2 (F-WBXS).
