1:400 Diecast: HOP! Air France Bombardier CRJ-1000EL F-HMLO (JC Wings LH4405)

F-HMLO is a Bombardier CRJ-1000EL (CL-600-2E25, MSN 19041) that entered service with Brit Air before operating under the HOP! brand — Air France's regional subsidiary formed in December 2012. HOP! took over the CRJ-1000 fleet from its predecessor carriers (Brit Air, Regional, Airlinair) and operated them on European and domestic French routes until the type's phase-out in 2022, when the fleet was sold to Jetcraft Commercial. The CRJ-1000EL is the stretched, 100-seat variant of the Canadair Regional Jet family, powered by two General Electric CF34-8C5 engines mounted on rear fuselage pylons.

Livery & Visual Details

The model carries HOP!'s white-based livery with bold identity elements. "HOP!" appears in large red letters with the stylised broken-circle "O" on the forward fuselage, with "AIRFRANCE" in smaller blue text directly below. A diagonal red band over a diagonal dark-blue band on the vertical stabilizer forms the tail design. Both rear-mounted engine exhaust cones carry a bright red circular marking. The fuselage is scattered with small irregular red speckle elements — a distinctive HOP! design detail. Registration F-HMLO is visible in black on the rear fuselage. Wingtips are tapered/classic raked with no vertical extensions.

Model Craftsmanship & Collectability

Released by JC Wings at 1:400 scale under item number LH4405, with antenna fitted. The CRJ-1000 mould accurately captures the extended fuselage and the distinctive rear-engine layout that distinguishes it from the narrower CRJ-700/900 family. The HOP! brand ceased to exist as an independent entity in September 2019 when it was fully absorbed into Air France operations, making models from this period a distinct collector category.
