1:200 Diecast: Aeroméxico Boeing 767-3Q8ER XA-APB (JC Wings XX20118)
XA-APB is a Boeing 767-3Q8ER (MSN 27618, Line No. 727) delivered to Aeroméxico on 24 November 1998. The aircraft operated transatlantic and North American routes for the carrier until it was stored in December 2014, after which it was leased to Azur Air as VP-BXW. The 767-3Q8ER subvariant was ordered by ILFC and wet-leased to multiple operators; XA-APB represents one of Aeroméxico's later 767-300ER deliveries in the classic livery era. Engines are Pratt & Whitney PW4060.
Livery & Visual Details
The model carries Aeroméxico's classic livery — a polished metallic silver fuselage bisected by a prominent red cheatline bordered by narrower blue stripes above and below. "AEROMEXICO" appears in bold blue capitals on the upper forward fuselage, preceded by a small Mexican flag device. The all-blue vertical stabilizer carries the iconic "Caballero Águila" (Aztec Eagle Warrior) logo in white. The nose cone is red. Registration XA-APB is visible in red on the lower rear fuselage. Wingtips are classic flat — no winglets — consistent with the pre-WL configuration of this airframe.
Model Craftsmanship & Collectability
Released by JC Wings at 1:200 scale under item number XX20118. The 767-300 mould used for this release traces its lineage to an early Gemini Jets tooling, refined for the larger-scale XX series. The classic Aeroméxico livery was retired as the carrier transitioned to a blue-and-white scheme in the 2010s, making this a record of the airline's heritage colour scheme on a long-haul widebody.
