1:200 Diecast: Continental Airlines Boeing 767-424ER N66051 "Continental / United Transition Livery" (JC Wings LH2505)

N66051 is a Boeing 767-424ER, MSN 29446, first flown 12 August 2000 and delivered to Continental Airlines on 30 August 2000 — the first 767-424ER delivered to the carrier. The aircraft became part of United Airlines' fleet following the October 2010 merger, operating in the hybrid transition livery that combined Continental's blue script titles and nose globe with United's globe tail logo. The 767-424ER sub-variant, an extended-range stretch of the -400, was acquired exclusively by Continental and Delta; N66051 subsequently flew as one of United's rarest widebody types, configured C34 W24 Y173, powered by two GE CF6-80C2B7F engines.

Livery & Visual Details

White upper fuselage, silver-grey lower fuselage separated by a fine gold pinstripe. "Continental" in blue cursive script at the forward fuselage; small Continental globe badge at the nose. Mid-aft fuselage carries a small US flag. The vertical tail displays United Airlines' blue-and-gold globe logo — the defining visual feature of the transition scheme that preserved Continental's body identity while adopting United's tail. No winglets; classic straight wingtips standard for -400 variant. Static gear down.

Model Craft & Collectibility

JC Wings item LH2505 at 1:200 scale. Diecast metal construction. The Continental–United transition livery existed only during a short post-merger window before full re-livery. The 767-424ER itself was never operated by any airline other than Continental and United (later Delta acquired -400ERs via NWA), giving N66051 a precise institutional pedigree. The first-delivered airframe status of this MSN adds a further layer of documentation interest for -400ER specialists.
