C-FNXG (MSN 19001) is the first CRJ1000 ever built — the production prototype that Bombardier used to certify and market the stretched, 100-seat NextGen variant of the CRJ family. Its first flight took place on 29 July 2009. Unlike every other CRJ in the Bombardier catalogue, this aircraft has never been delivered to a commercial airline; it remained within the manufacturer's test and demonstration fleet, accumulating airshow appearances and customer evaluation flights before entering storage around 2015. The NextGen designation refers to aerodynamic and systems improvements over the CRJ900, including a revised engine nacelle profile and updated avionics.

Livery & Visual Details

The model wears the Bombardier house-colour demonstration scheme: silver-white forward fuselage transitioning to a sweeping bright-blue rear section, with the division line curving up across the cabin roof. "CRJ1000" in blue block letters and "NextGen" in a smaller typeface appear on the mid-cabin. The vertical fin is blue with a white "CRJ" logo. Registration C-FNXG in white is visible at the rear fuselage. Upswept winglets. Tail-mounted GE CF34 engines in blue nacelles matching the aft fuselage. Landing gear deployed.

JC Wings LH2512 captures the CRJ1000 at 1:200 scale in full diecast metal with the Bombardier prototype livery. At 19.55 cm long and 13.10 cm wide, this is one of the larger regional jet models in the 1:200 format. MSN 19001 in manufacturer colours represents a unique category: a first-of-type aircraft that introduced 100-seat CRJ service to airlines including Air Nostrum, Luxair and Air France Régional.
