F-WMIL is MSN 59 — the first Airbus A350-1000 ever to fly. On 24 November 2016, this airframe lifted off from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport for the type's maiden flight, marking the entry of the stretched -1000 variant into its flight test campaign. Retained by Airbus as a flight-test and demonstrator platform, F-WMIL carries the "Airbus Upnext" livery applied to highlight the aircraft's role in advanced operational research. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines — the most powerful Trent variant to enter service — the A350-1041 is the highest-capacity member of the A350 family.

Livery & Visual Details

The model displays the "Airbus Upnext" house livery: white fuselage with a dark navy sweep across the lower rear fuselage rising to the full vertical stabilizer, which carries an abstract blue and white wave design. "AIRBUS", "A350-1000", and "XWB" are printed in blue on the forward fuselage. A large "1000" in dark blue dominates the rear fuselage section. Red text on the mid-fuselage reads "Demonstrating enhanced operations for return to airport By Airbus Uplift" — an operational capability callout associated with this specific campaign. The model features raked wingtips. Landing gear is static and extended. This is the flaps-up configuration (see LH2444A for the flaps-down paired variant).
