36-CB carries the French Air Force designation 202 and is one of four Boeing E-3F Sentry AWACS aircraft operated by the Armée de l'Air. The E-3F is a French-specific variant of the E-3 Sentry, powered by CFM56-2 turbofans rather than the TF33 engines on US Air Force E-3s—a distinction unique to the French fleet. Serial 36-CB wore a "90 ans" commemorative sticker marking a 90th anniversary of the Armée de l'Air, applied during the 2018–2020 period per available records.
