OY-KRF, construction number 170, is a Sud SE-210 Caravelle III delivered to Scandinavian Airlines in March 1964 and named "Torkil Viking." The Caravelle III was the third production series of France's pioneering rear-engine narrowbody — the first western commercial jet to enter service with that configuration. OY-KRF served SAS until February 1974, operating on Scandinavian domestic and European routes during the jet's commercial peak.

Livery & Visual Detail

The upper fuselage is white; the lower section and wing undersurfaces carry natural bare-metal silver, typical of early-1960s SAS practice. A deep-blue cheatline runs from the nose along the window belt to the tail. "SCANDINAVIAN" is spelled out in deep-blue capitals on the forward upper fuselage. The registration OY-KRF appears in smaller black characters aft of the cheatline near the horizontal stabilizer. Three small national flag panels — representing Denmark, Norway, and Sweden — sit on the rear fuselage above the tail-mounted engines. The vertical stabilizer is white with the "SAS" identifier in deep-blue. Classic straight wingtips without winglets. The nose cone is black. Landing gear deployed.
