• Feature:KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is the world's oldest continuously operating airline, having retained its name since its founding in 1919. The 1950s and 60s were KLM's golden years of actively expanding its European network, and the Vickers Viscount 800 was thestar aircraft of that era. The Viscount was the world's first turboprop airliner to enter commercial service,transforminging the public's existing impressions of propeller aircraft at the time with its low vibration, low noise and outstanding ride comfort. The 800 variant, with a further stretched fuselage and more seats, was the most popular derivative in the Viscount family. This aircraft, registration PH-VIE, was given the special name "Jan Olieslagers" after an early Dutch aviation pioneer, continuing KLM's tradition of naming its aircraft.

The livery shown on the model is KLM's highly representative classic blue-and-white scheme of the 1960s: a silver metallic belly with a white upper fuselage, with multiple horizontal stripes from dark to light blue wrapping the fuselage and tail, layered and full of theof the era feel. The fuselage is decorated with evenly spaced round black cabin windows, and the words "KLM ROYAL DUTCH AIRLINES" are printed neatly above the belly waistline.
